Public house in C19; now private house. Original building of 1678;
raised, altered and extended c.1850. Original house for Peter Braith-
waite. Rubble sandstone, raised in tooled sandstone; pantile roof. 2
low storeys with irregular fenestration and 2-storey, 1-bay extension at
right. C19 6-panel door in extension, and left-of-centre board door
beneath timber lintel in original front. 16-pane sash beneath tooled
lintel left of board door, and shuttered 2-pane fixed light further left.
Right of board door is a squat 8-pane fixed light. Two square 8-pane
sashes in first floor and flat-roofed half dormer at left end. Coped
gables and block kneelers. End and left-of-centre stacks. Rear. 3-light
chamfered mullioned window survives. Datestone relief carved:

reset in first floor. Interior: not inspected. Corbelled stone fireplace
