Large dwelling for pigs. 1891 for John Warren Barry; Matt. Harb mason. Coursed
squared sandstone, concrete and timber. Roof now felted. Classical/Egyptian
temple style. Stone basement with 2 projecting buttress-plinths and plain side
entrances. Hexstyle portico above has timber quasi-Ionic columns on stone
bases, supporting entablature with reeded frieze, mutuled cornice and pediment
with acroteriou, all of wood. Remains of trophy of arms in tympanum. Freize
and cornice continue around the building, to similar pediment on rear. Walls of
internal cella concrete with panelled doors. S-bay sides have battered windows
and rainwater heads with palmette decoration. Said to contain all possible
modern conveniences for 4 pigs, but interior inaccessible at time of survey.
