Gateway, gates and lodges. c1754. Ashlar stone with stone slate roofs.
Wrought-iron gates. Carriage gateway and pedestrian gates flanked by wall
and a lodge to each side. Gateway: 4 vermiculated rusticated pilasters.
Central arched carriage entrance has moulded architrave and double keystone
with carved head. To either side rectangular gateway with projecting panels
above. Cornice with open pediment to central bay; 5 bay carved head
keystone; finials. Gates have midrails and central semicircular panels with
radial bars. Coped curtain walls. Lodges: 2 storeys, 2 first-floor windows
each. Each has quoins; central ground-floor sash with glazing bars, keyed
architrave on first floor: two 6-pane sashes with keyed architraves, moulded
stone cornices; parapet; and pyramidal roof with central stack.
