House. Early C17. Mainly timber framed and plastered with some plastered
brick. Red plain tiled roof. Central red brick chimney stack with attached
diagonal shafts. 2 storeys and attics. 3 first floor and right and left ground
floor windows of various 3 light vertically sliding sashes and casements, fixed
central first floor light. Central vertically boarded door with top light.
Moulded pilasters. Gabled red tiled porch. Internal features include back to
back first and ground floor fireplaces, those to first floor with moulded brick
Tudor arches and semi-circular backs, ground floor right has a moulded stone
fireplace with Tudor arch, that to left room now blocked, but said to be
similar. Original plain windows and moulded mullion windows. Rail and muntin
doors. Stop chamfered bridging joists. Heavy wall studs. Original stairs.
Built in settle with incised patera and foliate motifs, these motifs are
repeated on first floor doorway. 2 C18 corner cupboards. Framed side purlin
roof. Halved and bladed top plate scarf. Sometimes known as Pickerel's.
