Barn. Early C16, extended in C18/C19. Timber framed, weatherboarded, roofed with
shingles. 4 bays aligned E-W with C18 midstrey to S. Extended to E by 4 bays in
C18, with midstrey to N. The original barn has jowled posts, heavy studding with
'Suffolk' bracing trenched to the outside, edge-halved and bridled scarfs in the
wallplates, arched braces (and one replaced straight brace) to the tiebeams. Roof
raised approx 0.50 metre and rebuilt in softwood in C20. The E extension has
unjowled posts, primary straight bracing, bolted knees to the tiebeams, and the
walls raised and roof rebuilt similarly.
