GV II

Farm buildings, probably of C17th origin. Sandstone rubble with stone
slate roofs. The western building borders the road and a straight joint
suggests that it is of 2 builds. The left-hand part of the east wall
has 2 2-light chamfered mullioned windows with hoods, with a blocked
chamfered doorway with hood between them, all with tooling marks
suggesting re-dressing or an C18th or later date. The right-hand portion
has a blocked door with plain stone surround, with a blocked oval
chamfered opening above, with a wide entrance with sliding door further
right. The gables have copings. The south gable wall has a door and 2
windows with plain reveals, with a blocked oval chamfered opening above.
The north gable has a door with plain stone surround, with a round
pitching hole with plain stone surround above. The east wall has a
wide opening with sliding door at its southern end.

The western building has, at the southern end of its east wall, a blocked
doorway with semi-circular chamfered head. The cyma moulding of the jambs
continues around the outside of the voussoirs. To its right are 2
chamfered oval openings with a blocked chamfered door surround between
them. At a lower level beneath them are 2 windows with plain reveals.
Above the doorway is a chamfered round opening. Above are holes to
nesting boxes, with a continuous ledge beneath of stone slates. At the
left-hand end is another chamfered oval opening. The gables have copings
with finials. The west wall has various openings, mostly with plain stone
surrounds, and a blocked doorway with semi-circular head, matching the one
in the east wall. Linking the two buildings and enclosing the garden at
its southern side is a rubble wall with triangular coping. In the centre
are 2 ashlar gate piers, of square section with cyma cornices and ball
finials.
