Maltings Farmhouse

Maltings. Early C19. Red brick. Red pantiled roof. An unusual building with
the roof outshot to west forming an internal single storey rear corridor to the
2 storey front (east face). This face with 3 red brick and 2 concreted
buttresses. Dentilled eaves cornice. 5 bays with ground and first floor
louvres, similar louvres to rear. The road facing (south) gable with doors to
right and windows to left on both floors. The north gable is now open. A
freestanding timber frame has hanging knees supporting the tie beams of the
malting floor. Boarded walls to first floor. Side purlin ridgeboard roof.
