Pair of cottages. Late C17. Plastered cob walls. Hipped thatched roof. Central
rendered rubble axial stack.
Plan: Pair of mirror image 2-room cottages : the principal room to each heated by
central axial stack with very small outer service room. Entrance into larger room.
Exterior: 2 storey. Symmetrical front, 2 windows to each cottage with large space
in between. C19 3-light casements, outer ground floor ones 2-light. C20 part
glazed door to each between ground floor windows.
Interior of rignt-hand cottage (No. 2) has chamfered cross beams and open fireplace
with obscured wooden lintel and oven.
This is an interesting and unaltered example of an early pair of cottages.
