Gateway. C19 but incorporating De Traine Arms of 1472. Large square dressed stone blocks to weathered coping on chamfered brick 'modillions'; three-part wall, c.2.25 m high each side of raised section c.3.5 m high, total width c.8.5 m, on an offset plinth. Central four-centred arch to voussoirs over C19 plank and fillet door on two granite steps. Limestone plaque above with 1472 coat of arms and central terra-cotta urn.
The gateway gives to a footpath to Old Traine (qv), and is situated opposite Trayne House (qv).
