House, formerly farmhouse. Mid to later C17 with C20 additions. Rendered cob and
rubble walls. Gable ended thatch roof. 2 brick gable end stacks.
Plan: 2-room-and-through-passage plan. Both rooms heated from gable end stacks,
left-hand room probably kitchen. C20 1 storey addition behind left-hand room
Exterior: 2 storeys. Symmetrical 3-window front of C20 2-light casements. Central
C20 part-glazed door under gabled doorhood. At rear is large C20 garage extension
and leanto behind left-hand end.
Interior: both rooms have chamfered and stopped ceiling beams. The right-hand room
has an open fireplace with chamfered wooden lintel and cloam oven in left-hand side.
The left-hand room has a wide open fireplace with chamfered and straight-cut stopped
wooden lintel. Remains of cream cooker to right of fireplace. Either side of the
passage is a stud partition with the studs morticed and pegged into the head beam
which may also be original. The feet of the roof trusses are not visible on the 1st
floor and unlikely to be original.
