Moot Hall now 3 houses. Probably late C16 with early and late C19 additions and
C20 alterations. Extremely thick incised rendered walls under graduated
greenslate roof with rendered chimney stacks. 2 storeys, 5 bays, the central
part being No.2, with lower projecting gabled 2-storey, 2-bay early C19
extension to left, now No.3; and higher late C19 2-storey, 2-bay gabled
extension to right now No.1. Central 4-panel door in late C17-style cement
architrave under segmental pediment. Small 2-light casement windows in
chamfered cemented surrounds. Small firewindow to right. Between upper-floor
windows is Salkeld shield-of-arms. No.3 has 4-panel side door and wooden cross
casement windows in C19 chamfered surrounds. No.1 has plank door and C20
casement windows in red sandstone surrounds. End wall to right has broad
stepped gable buttress. Plank door in C16 chamfered surround with cambered
head. Rear wall has central original chamfered-surround 2-light stone-mullioned
windows and other windows with stone mullions removed. Nos.1 & 3 occupy the end
bays of the original hall and have C20 windows to rear.
