I took this photograph in the Spring of 2018 while visiting my home village, Donhead St. Mary.
In the late 1940s this was a PNEU kindergarten school, run by Daphne Coward. Her husband, Ralph Coward was an early organic farmer. Unfortunately, their son developed epilepsy from lead poisoning from the old plumbing of the farm, that has no doubt been replaced. Wonderful place for small children. I learned to milk cows and we went on the most amazing nature walks to learn about wildflowers. As a teenager, I used to help with the haymaking. No trackers in that farm - just beautiful carthorses!
The other photo is of the old bard, in which every Christmas the Cowards had a wonderful Nativity play - all lit with candles!
