NY 32 NW THRELKELD

6/49 Stoneraise

Farmhouse. Mid C17 with C19 alterations. Painted roughcast walls under
graduated greenslate roof with C19 brick chimney stacks. 2 storeys, 4 bays with
former stable to right under common roof. 2-storey gabled porch has round arch
with casement window over, barred side windows and internal stone seats. Ground
floor 3-light C20 windows and sash windows in enlarged openings. Large
Yorkshire sash windows with glazing bars above in enlarged openings. Plank door
in wooden surround to extreme left. Former stable has C20 sliding plank door.
Interior has beamed kitchen ceiling and inglenook with heck partition. Built-in
semicircular stone stair to rear. Late C17 panelling in bedroom. Large square
ridge chimney stacks, staircase and porch indicate a mid C17 date. Adjoining
barn to left is listed separately.
