Former farmhouse and stable. Late C17 or early C18 with extensive C19
alterations. Painted roughcast walls under graduated greenslate roof with
rendered chimney stacks. Stable of mixed slate and cobble rubble. 2 storeys, 3
bays with rear extension and single-bay stable to right under common roof,
forming overall L-shape. C20 door and sash windows, those to right of entrance
tripartite, all in painted stone surrounds. Sash windows to extreme right are
in enlarged surrounds; gabled porch beyond. Former stable has plank door and
casement windows under slate lintels. End wall has loft door. Extension has
sash windows and casement windows with glazing bars in painted stone surrounds.
Interior has mid C17 staircase, with symmetrically turned balusters, closed
string, moulded handrails and ball finials, re-used on top of a stone dog-leg
stair. Upper rooms divided by early C18 panelling inserted to side of tie
beam. One room containing panelled box bed with pierced fretted upper panels,
probably circa 1700. Stone fireplace and salt cupboard of similar date below.
