Barn and byres adjoining to north of Mill Grove

Barn and byres adjoining Mill Grove. Probably late C17 or early C18
incorporating medieval plinth and end wall. Large blocks of red sandstone (from
the nearby Holme Cultram Abbey) partly on chamfered plinth. Welsh slate roof
with coped gables. Long single-storey building. Central sliding plank cart
door. Blocked entrance to left and slit vents above. End wall left
incorporates the lower part of an adjoining Abbey building. Flanking
right-angled extensions at front and extensions to rear are of no interest.
Listed partly for G.V. with Mill Grove.
