God Highest Greatest In this burial place of the Arundells in St Columb Major where undefiled shines the sacred light, this black marble covers the remains of the most renowned knight, John Arundell, one with his spouse, Anne Stanley, daughter of the most illustrious Earl of Derby, whose progeny were two sons, John and George, and five daughters, Dorothy, Elizabeth, Cecily, Margaret, Gertrude. Buried here, as in blood, so in virtue and love, he was to John, son of these parents, a pattern. He lived here until 60, she until 71 years of age and after, They are here buried with their ancestors, he the 17th of November, she the 22nd of September, in the year of salvation, he in 1590, she in 1602.
