at approximately 25 metres east of
Boscarn Old Farmhouse

Former house, adjoining stable, piggery and swill kitchen. C18 house, circa mid to
late C19 piggery. Some granite ashlar otherwise granite rubble with granite
dressings. Grouted scantle slate roofs except right-hand end of piggery which is
replaced with corrugated asbestos. Gable ends. Right-hand (south-west) gable end
has coping stones coursed into the dressed gable masonry. There is an external
ashlar stack at the opposite end (chimney removed). Stump of brick chimney at front
end of outbuilding.
Plan: Overall L-shaped plan. 2-room-plan house (now 1-room) has single-storey range
of stable, piggery and swill kitchen built at right angles in front of the left-hand
side. Front and rear walls of the house have been partly rebuilt in the C19 and the
present front may have been the rear.
Exterior: 2 storey house with single-storey farm building built at right angles in
front of the left-hand side. House has irregular north-west front with central
doorway with window over, another doorway towards the left and a small window in
former waggon doorway on the right. Remainder of lean-to in front of the right-hand
side and another lean-to at the right-hand end.
Rear of house has central doorway, window right of doorway and small window above.
Outbuilding has regular south-west front with 2 low doorways for pigs in the middle,
a doorway at far left to swill kitchen with small window on its right and similar
front to stable on the right.
Interior: House has large fireplace on the left and fireplace for former chambers.
