House with integral coach house and stable. Datestone 1859. Granite and elvan
rubble with granite dressings. Grouted scantle slate roofs: half-hipped roof over
house; hipped end to rear wing and gable end to single storey building on the left.
Brick chimneys over the side walls of the house and over the axial wall of the rear
wing. Cast-iron ogee gutters.
Plan: Overall L-shaped plan: double-depth plan house with 2 equal-sized front rooms;
through passage between the rooms; dairy behind the left-hand room within integral 2-
storey outshut; stair hall behind right-hand room and kitchen in deep wing at right-
angles behind stair hall. Behind the kitchen is an integral stable with room over
and behind the stable is a coach house with fodder store over. Adjoining the left-
hand side of the house is a later C19 single storey addition to the house.
Exterior: 2-storeys. Symmetrical 3 window south-east front with central doorway.
C19 door with marginal panes to the glazed upper half. Original 12-pane hornless
sashes. Original sash also at first floor of rear, and coach house and stables have
their original ledged doors and (loading doorway over coachhouse doorway) and
shuttered window over stable.
Interior: Has most of its original carpentry and joinery including dog-leg stair
with open string.
