Farmhouse. Circa mid C17 further extended in early C19. Rendered stone rubble and
cob. Rag slate roof with gable ends and parallel slate roof to rear, also with gable
ends. Brick end stacks.
Plan: House of 2-room and through passage plan with larger hall-kitchen on left and
smaller parlour on right, heated by end stacks. In the circa early C19 the house was
extended to rear and re-orientated, the newer 2-room and central passage range
accommodating the principal rooms heated by end stacks with the earlier probably
parlour becoming the dairy and the hall kitchen becoming the back kitchen.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Nearly symmetrical 2-window front to C19 range with C20 door
near centre flanked by 2-light casement on left and 3-light casement on right. Two
2-light casements on first floor. Earlier C17 range has regular 2-window front with
entrance to right of centre. C20 windows in earlier openings.
Interior: Chamfered C17 floor joists in rear earlier range. The hall-kitchen
fireplace lintel is chamfered and stopped (information from owner). Interior not
fully inspected.
