Farmhouse. C17, with alterations and additions of C19 and C20 alterations. Rendered
stone rubble. Rag slate roof with ridge tiles and gable ends. Gable end stack to
left and axial stack to right with rendered shafts.
Plan: 3-room and through passage plan; the lower end room to right is a shippon. The
room to left is heated from a gable end stack and a central room is heated from an
axial stack backing on to the passage. The passage has a C20 porch added in front of
the entrance. At the right end there is a shippon, probably rebuilt circa C19.
There is an unheated outshut to rear left, and a lean-to at the lower right-hand end.
Exterior: 2 storeys, an asymmetrical 3-window front. At ground floor to left there
are two C19 6-pane sashes, one with truncated hood mould and one with complete hood
mould. At first floor to left there are two C19 4-pane sashes. To right there is a
C20 porch with small C20 window above. There is a plank door to the shippon to
right. The blind left end has external stack. The right end has single storey lean-
to. At the rear there is an outshut of single storey to right with C20 window at the
side; this is built into the bank at the rear.
There is a C19 plank door at the rear of the passage and at first floor to left a C19
2-pane window with slate cill. Small single storey lean-to to left.
Interior: Not inspected, but may retain some features of the C17; this is an unusual
survival in that the farmhouse retains the shippon at the lower end.
