Vicarage, now house. Mid - late C19, with some alterations and additions of C20.
Slatestone rubble; the front range rendered; partly slate-hung and partly rendered.
Slate roof with ridge tiles and gable ends. Gable end stacks with rendered shafts.
Plan: Central entrance with 2-storey porch; principal room to front right and left,
each heated from a gable end stack. There is a one-room plan wing to rear left with
a further principal room facing the garden at the left side, heated from a gable end
stack to rear. To rear right there is a one-room plan service wing, for kitchen,
with hipped roof and end stack, with a small unheated single storey lean-to at the
rear.
Exterior: 2 storeys, symmetrical front of 1:1:1 bays. Gabled 2-storey porch, with
panelled Gothic double doors with 4-centred arch Gothic fanlight, the doorway set in
a 4-centred arched chamfered recess. At first floor a 2-light 8-pane C19 casement
with 4-centred arched lights with recessed spandrels; all windows are of this type.
At ground floor to left and right a 3-light 8-pane casement; at first floor to left
and right a 3-light 8-pane casement. The left end has a single storey C20
conservatory. The left end is slate-hung, with single casement at attic level. The
rear wing is to left, slate-hung, with 3-light casement at ground and first floor.
The front gable end at the right end is blind and rendered. The service wing to
right is 2-storey, with 3-light C20 casement at ground floor and 3-light C19 casement
at first floor with toplights. The kitchen wing projects beyond the front range at
the side, and has a single light at ground and first floor at the front. At the
rear, the gable end to left is rendered, with single C19 casement at ground and
first floor. The end of the kitchen wing has hipped roof; the single storey lean-to
has 2-light 2-pane casement with timber lintel, C20 door and blocked window. At
first floor there is a 2-light C19 casement.
Interior: Not inspected, but may retain good features of the C19, such as
chimneypieces and doors.
