House, late C16, timber framed and plastered and 2 storeys. Gabled peg tile
roof. Front has a pair of double hung sashes with small panes and moulded
surround, on each floor. An off-centre recessed porch, on ground floor with
on the outside face, an early C19 doorcase with pilaster strips, flat hood and
panelled frieze. Stone steps and original iron handrail. Interior reveals
timber framed house of late C16 with moulded spine beam inpost and cills and
side framing for 'T combination' solar wndow. Scarf joints are halved and
bladed. Well framed roof with side purlins and wind bracing with 'raised
collars' on jowlless posts, over solar and large first floor chamber. Early C19
staircase in original floor opening.
