Castle
GV II
Piggery with swill kitchen and other adjoining farm buildings. Circa mid C19.
Granite rubble partly painted, with axial brick chimney between piggery and swill
kitchen.
Plan: Irregular grouping of rectangular single storey buildings; the piggery with 3
separate pens, a swill kitchen at the right hand (west) end.
Single storey. North front of piggery has 4 doorways, one to each pig's house plus a
feeding hatch on the left hand side of each doorway and a doorway to the swill
kitchen on the far right.
The piggery is a particularly good example of this C19 building type. The range
comes into close relationship with Pengersick Castle.
