Greatwood Quay
GV
II
Quay. Circa C17/C18. Vertically-set dry slatestone with dressed granite copings
linked by iron staples.
Round-ended-on-plan projection at right angles to river bank and becoming wider with
walling swept into line of bank.
This quay was a landing stage for Greatwood House.
A very simple but complete example of a C18 quay, and set in a stretch of beautiful
unspoilt wooded coastline.
