GV II


House. Circa early C19. Painted shale rubble, stuccoed to front, granite and slate
sills, hipped grouted scantle slate roofs with painted brick chimneys over side walls
and 2 chimneys to rear of hipped adjoining parallel wings.
Double pile plan, ie with axial passage between front reception rooms and rear
service rooms. 2 reception rooms flanking central cross passage, stair behind left-
hand room, kitchen beyond and further room, possibly dairy, to rear right.
2 storeys. Symmetrical 3-window south front. Central doorway with C20 glazed door.
C19 cast iron pedimented latticed porch (probably manufactured at the nearby Perran
Foundry qv). Original 16-pane hornless sashes to front and sides. East entrance
front has blind side wall of main front, left, and 2-window wing, right. Doorway to
left of wing with panelled door, overlight, panelled reveals and simple wooden
doorcase.
