Farmhouse. Late C17. Painted slatestone and cob with asbestos slate roof, formerly
thatched, rebuilt brick chimney over gable end left and external stone stack to gable
end right. 2 room plan originally with wide cross passage to central stair. 2
storeys. 3 window north-east front. Doorway with 4-panel door nearly central but
windows irregularly spaced. Left ground floor window closer to door than right
window at higher level, both with old 16-pane, 2-light casements. Original scratch
moulded lintels over. First floor windows closer spaced with middle narrower window
off centre to right. All C18 casements with original heavy ovolo moulded glazing
bars. 2-light casements left and right and single light middle. Each light with
6-panes. Rear has doorway off centre to left, small window left and old 12-pane
2-light casement right. Small window to first floor opposite front door is
presumably for original stair. Ground slopes down to right. Ruin of adjoining
building left. Eaves line sweeps lower to left because house is wider at upper end.
Interior much renewed but splayed stone fireplace with timber lintel survives to
upper room and altered wider opening to lower end hearth. C20 roof structure.
