House. Circa 1750 with C19 and C20 alterations and rear additions. Sandstone
rubble, ground floor rendered and lined out, first and 2nd floors slate-hung and
painted. Slate roof with gable end stack to right and gable end stack to rear wing.
Single depth plan with central entrance passage and room to right and left, stair to
rear of room to right, integral 2-storey one-room plan rear service wing to right
and single storey C20 addition at rear to left.
Symmetrical front of 3 storeys and 5 windows, all 4-pane sashes, 4 at ground floor
with central 6-panelled fielded door set in recess with pilasters and cornice; 3
windows at 2nd floor. Slate-hanging swept out over ground floor as string course.
Right side rendered, rear wing in painted rubble; the side wall of the main range
has a curved wall, not an oven.
Interior Internal porch, with panelled walls and half-glazed inner door. Room to
front left has 6-panelled and fielded door, room has complete fielded panelling and
dado rail, C19 chimneypiece to end wall with panelling above, cupboard to right and
left with shaped shelves and panelled lower doors; moulded cornice. Entrance
passage has moulded cornice. Room to right has 6-panelled door, other features
altered C20. Dog-leg stair with vertical panelling. At first floor, all partition
walls have vertical panelling, room to front left has 2-panelled door. Small room
to front centre, with vertical panelling. Room to front right has 2-panelled door.
Vertical panelling at 2nd floor, room to left and centre have 2-panelled doors.
Front room to left has chimneypiece with eared architrave, swept torus moulding and
moulded mantel. Rear 'wing has straight stair with stick balusters along outer side
wall, at ground floor panelled cupboards with H hinges.
