Farmhouse, circa late C17, early C18 and extended to rear circa early C19.
Rendered stone rubble with steeply pitched slate roof with gable ends. Projecting
wing with gable end on west (front right) and to rear on. east. Extension on right
with hipped end. Brick stack on left hand gable end. Projecting stone rubble
stack with shaft removed to front projecting wing.
Plan altered. Probably 3 room with cross passage. Cross passage on left with
staircase projection to rear. Passage on right, between centre range and kitchen
on left. Further staircase projection on rear of kitchen wing on right with dairy
added in angle.
2 storeys, asymmetrical 4 window west front. Ground floor with 2 double sashes,
without glazing bars, flanking partly glazed panelled door with flat hood over
with C18 dentilled cornice. Further 4-pane sash to right. Three 4-pane sashes
above. In projecting wing on right 4-pane sash to ground and first floor.
Interior: Room on left with fielded panelling to dado height. With 6 panelled
door with fielded panelling on north. In centre range, doors with simple fielded
panelling. Kitchen in right hand range with plastered ceiling. Large fireplace
with chamfered granite lintel and granite jambs. Dog-leg staircases to 2 rear
projecting wings. Staircase on right with some turned balusters removed. Full
C18 panelled doors to first floor. Roof of 10 bays with chamfered principals and
cambered collars.
