Tombstone to 4 members of Gaunt family died between 1841 and 1893. Painted
sandstone. Tall slender pedestal, with plain bud finial on hyperboloid stem
and moulded base. Epitaph to John Gaunt on east face includes:" .....
Merchant and cloth manufacturer. Late of Armley Near Leeds. Twenty one
years trusted of the Leeds coloured cloth hall and the first founder of the
Salmon fishery at Coatham .....". Epitaphs to other members of family on
other 3 faces. Paint largely missing at time of resurvey. Included for
historic interest.
