Stables: late C18 with C19 additions and C20 alterations. Washed
English garden wall bond red brick, Kerridge stone-slate roof.
L-shaped plan. 2-storey, 3-bay north front. Left end bay projects
under gable and has a 2-light chamfered stone mullion below and on
elliptical pitch hole above. Lines of diamond pattern ventilation
holes. To right are 2 doors with heavy wooden lintels and a pitch
hole above.
Interior: Wooden stable stalls survive in parts as do cobbled and
brick floors with open drains. Exposed sawn pine ceiling beams.
Probably built when the cottage became an inn.
