Early C19 mansion, now Borough Maternity Home, in extensive grounds which is now
a public park abutting a loop of the River Mersey. Stuccoed, slate roof with
hips, parapet, wood eaves cornice. 2 storeys. Slight central projection with
pediment, pilasters at angles; centre entrance with 2-panel double doors and side
lights, segmental-arched fanlight with glazing bars, and pedimented porch with
2 pairs of Ionic columns. 6 windows on ground floor and 7 above, mostly new casements.
