Medieval fragments, including chancel, mostly of C14. Present church now mainly
1859-67 by Frederick and Horace Francis, probably their best work (Pevsner).
Wide nave, wide aisles, crossing tower and tall spire. Very elaborate organ
screen 1908 by Wm and Segar Owen, some glass by Pugin; some medieval monuments,
others of C18 and early C19.
Ring o' Bells Public House, Nos l31 to 137 (odd). Church of St Elphin cobbled
approach and Gateway form a group with Nos 142 to 160 (even).
