Cottage, probably 1880's, for Rowland Egerton Warburton. Brown brick;
clay tile roof. 2 storeys, 1 window with gable to front; the cottage
occupies the rear of an open garden court off Church Street, which
also gives access to Providence House, q.v. 5-light red-brick
mullioned window to lower storey; similar 4-light window to upper
storey, each with a round-arched plaster panel above each light.
Moulded brick bands; buttresses at corners. Projecting red brick
diapering and lozenge-shaped plastered panels in gable. Lateral
1-storey loggia left has oak-framed front on brick plinth with
entrance left and brick back wall with basket-arched opening right
giving access across small paved yard to door of 6 fielded panels in
1-storey left wing. A 3-metre screen wall of brick right of cottage
links with Providence House.
Excellent villagescape.
Interior could not be inspected.
