House, probably early C17, altered. Rendered, probably partly on oak
small framing, with some rebuilding in brick. Grey slate roofs. 2
storeys. Left wing of 3 rooms; taller cross-wing right with attic.
Left wing partly recased in brick probably mid C19. Framed and
boarded door with plain overlight at centre of left wing. Windows
replaced in cross-wing and lower storey of left wing; small-pane
casements in upper storey of left wing. Flush chimney on left gable;
chimney in front of ridge at junction of wings; ridge chimney at
centre of cross-wing. Most visible features of interest are internal,
a good deal of wall framing with timbers of large section; numerous
chamfered oak beams; one oak beam with 3 bold gadroons on soffit;
ingle-nook bressumer in rear left room (chimney removed); chamfered
purlins with shaped windbraces in corners with principal rafters.
