2/15 Limefield House.
GV II
House: c1830 for Joseph Brook. Ashlar brown sandstone. Welsh slate
pyramidal roof, large central stone chimney. Square in plan with
extension to the rear. 2-storey, symmetrical 3-bay south front.
Plinth, clasping square pilasters at corners, and low blocking course.
End bays have 12-pane sashes in plain reveals with simply carved
panels beneath. Heavy detached Tuscan porch has an earred architrave
over a rectangular fanlight with intricate tracery and a moulded,
8-panel door behind. 12-pane sash above.
Interior: A good contemporary staircase and Greek revival fireplace
are reported.
