Milestone: late C18. Triangular-sectioned sandstone block with a
shaped top. White painted with black painted inscription which reads
on the north-east face "To Macclesfield 3M", west face reads "To
Chapel 8M, To Sheffield 30M, To Chesterfield 31M".

One of a set on the Macclesfield-Chapel turnpike, this section of
1770. Others survive in Hurdsfield, Rainow (3) and Kettleshulme
(q.v.).
