3/73 The Lodge.

GV II

Lodge: c1910 by C E Mallows with sympathetic additions of c1970.
Pebble-dashed brick, buff sandstone dressings. York stone-slate roof
and 1 ridge chimney. 2-storey, 4-bay west front. Stone plinth,
quoins and quarter-round stone band at 1st floor. The eaves are
corbelled out on stone slates. Left end bay has a 3-light stone
mullioned window with label mould. 2nd bay is a gabled 2-storey porch
with 4-centred arched, chamfered doorcase containing a door with
vertical rails and iron strap hinges. Alongside is a moulded niche
with a small light. Flat moulded hood. 3-light stone mullioned
window above. 3rd and 4th bays have 5-light stone mullioned windows
and small windows in raking half-dormers above. Parallel range added
to rear left.
