3/13 Trewolla Farmhouse

Farmhouse, now house. Early - mid C19, with alterations and additions of later C19
and C20. Rendered stone rubble; lined out at the front. Hipped scantle slate roof
with ridge tiles. End stacks with brick shafts; the rear wing has a stack at the
outer side with rendered shaft.
Plan: 2-room plan, with central entrance and principal room to front left and right;
there is an integral rear service wing to right, of one-room plan, heated from a
stack at the right side. At the rear, there is a single storey range of outhouses,
of later C19, attached to the rear wing and enclosing a small rear service yard.
Exterior: 2 storeys, nearly symmetrical 3-window front. First floor has three C19
12-pane sashes with cambered arches. Ground floor left a C19 12-pane sash and to
right a C19 16-pane sash, both with cambered arches. Central large C20 porch with
hipped roof and glazed front. The right and left ends are blind. The rear has a
central late C19 margin-glazed stair light. The rear wing is 2-storey; at the inner
side there are two C20 12-pane sashes at first floor and one at ground floor to left;
to right a C20 French window. The end of the wing has hipped roof; blind. The
single storey range of outhouses encloses a service yard; there are doors randomly
arranged and slate roof with gable end.
Interior: Not fully inspected at time of survey (October 1987). The front two rooms
have been much altered; stair at the rear of the entrance hall, the balusters boxed
in.
