II
House, 1894, by Douglas & Fordham, for 1st Duke of Westminster.
Stone-dressed red brick with blue diapering; grey slate roof with red
terracotta ridge. Symmetrical 2 storey house of 3 bays (a:b:a).
Shaped projecting chimneys on shaped end gables, terminating in 2
spiral-moulded brick flues. 3 shaped half-dormers to front; those to
left and right project. Central porch with shaped gable, round arched
entrance and datestone 'W.1894'. Iron casements (leaded glazing
removed) in sandstone mullioned windows. Glazed 9-panel door (moulded
stiles, muntins and rails), with matching glazed screen.
Interior: 4-panel doors with moulded stiles and rails; other features
not inspected.
