House. c 1600 altered and extended late C20. Timber frame with small-panel framing and brick
infill. Old tile gabled roof. Baffle-entry plan of 4 framed bays formerly rectangular, now U-
shape with 2 gabled extensions at rear. 2 storeys. One chimney on left, one ridge chimney to
right of centre. C20 leaded Gothic casement windows with pointed heads and interlaced glazing
bars. Entrance (north-east) front: two, 2-light windows first floor. One 2-light window on
ground floor on left; two 3-light windows on right with C20 gabled porch with plain door, all to
right of centre. Interior: good brick chimney and fireplace in dining room, with 4-centred,
moulded, arched head; salt or spice cupboard door decorated with carved thistles, in moulded
frame. Similar brick fireplace in living room but with plain chamfered arched head. Plain
principal beams and joists exposed on ground floor; one beam in living room has carved wooden
hanging hooks.
