7/129 Coldharbour Farmhouse
II
Farmhouse. C15 and C18. Colourwashed brick with some flint
banding, thatched roof. Single storey and attic, raised to 2
storeys, 3 1/2 bays with major stack in half bay between 1 and 2.
Boarded door in left bay and C19 timber casement windows, leaded
windows to upper floor and ovolo window in east side. Roof hipped.
Interior: South 2 bays with remains of full crucks, with curved
blades and type E apex, originally with wattle and daub infilling.
Inner bay has smoke blackening in roof and rafters pegged to
diagonal ridge. Stack inserted c1700 and interior reorganised.
Oven against front wall. Spine beams with ogee stops. Some timber
framed partitions.
