Farmhouse. Possibly C16 in origin, mid C17 with early C19 additions and
mid C20 alteration. Well-coursed gritstone to ground floor, brick to 1st floor
encasing one bay of earlier timber-frame, hammer-dressed stone to additions,
stone slate roof. T-shaped. 3 bays. 2 storeys. Quoins. Addition to left
of 2-cell house has window with projecting sill to each floor and doorway with
monolithic jambs. Wing breaks forward at junction with 2-cell house and has
rendered gable and external stack; right-hand has tall stairwindow to left of
doorway with monolithic jambs. Main house, set back, has a 3-light double-chamfered
mullioned window with same above. 3 ridge stacks. Rear: the 2 original cells
each have a C20 canted bay window with sash window above.
Interior: mainly C19. Posts with jowelled heads and large tie beams plastered
over survive from earlier house. Dog-leg staircase with slender turned newels
and stick balusters. Doorway with architraves and 6-panel doors.
