Barn. C17, with some earlier fabric; altered and probably shortened
(No.3 built on part of site). Coursed squared sandstone (with quoins to
south-east corner only), stone slate roof. L-shaped plan, 3 bays, with 2-bay
aisle on west side; former wagon entrance in bay between this and gable wall
of No.3 to left, doorway now mostly blocked; inserted doorway in re-entrant
of aisle, and 4 square openings in front wall of this, South gable wall has
2 inserted doorways, and 2 smaller openings above. Rear of less interest.
Interior: 2 large aisle posts, with braces to tie-beams and to aisle-plate
(which is scarf-jointed); upper parts of corresponding wall-posts in east
wall; at each end, wall-posts and some bracing of cross-frames of formerly
smaller structure.
