House with attached railings, now offices. Late C18/early C19 with later
alterations. Painted brick with stone dressings and slate roof. Iron
railings. Two storeys on basement (3 storeys at rear), 3 bays with central
hallway plan. Ashlar plinth. Four stone steps to central doorcase with
original iron boot-scrapers to either side of top step. Deeply-recessed
double-leaf raised and fielded 6-panel door below radial traceried overlight in
doorcase with moulded architrave and moulded cornice on fluted consoles. To
either side there are dwarf stone walls to front with original railings which
have plain bars and standards with bulb bases and spear-head finials. Basement
has blocked opening to right. Ground floor has plate-glass sash windows, one to
right and 2 to left. Second floor has symmetrical arrangement of 3 sashes with
glazing bars, plus small inserted 4-pane sash to far right. All windows have
flat stone arches with incised voussoirs and projecting sills. Moulded hopper
head to bracketed downpipe to far right. Bracketed stone cornice. Concrete
coping to left gable. Brick end stacks halfway down front pitch of roof.
