Large detached house. Probably 1690 incorporating some timber framing.
Altered. Built for Josiah and Elizabeth Farrier. Hammer dressed stone.
Stone slate many gabled roof with chamfered copings and ornamental finials
at eaves and apexes. 2 storeys. C-shaped plan, the rear wing to left
having been truncated and has hipped roof. The entrance front is
symmetrical with gable to left and right each with blind 2-light double
chamfered window. Central door with single light over and large 2-light
window to left and right both floors are all of mid-late C.19. Reset
lintel reads F

Drip mouldings, though broken at doorway and at 1st floor windows, still
remain. Left elevation has projecting chimney breast, cross window to
staircase, two 2-light windows and two, altered 3-light windows, all
double chamfered. Right elevation has various 2 and 3-light, one
5-light double chamfered window one with hood mould continuing from
front with round stop with carved face. Two C.20 oriel windows.
Interior: Left parlour has oak panelling and C.17 plasterwork. The
frieze has paired griffons, and ceiling has lozenge decorated with
vines. Large vaulted cellars.
