Milnes and France. Four storeys, ashlar, well proportioned front with Italianate
details. Blind basement to ground floor. Panelled doors to centre with shaped
heads to rectangular fanlights, flanked and divided by rusticated piers. Broader
rusticated quoin pilasters. Coupled ground floor windows, recessed for one order
with foliate carved bands to heads. Moulded cornice carried across as first floor sill course; sill band to second floor; blocks sills on consoles to third floor.
The upper floor windows correspond with the ground floor openings: the outer ones
are paired, with chamfered dividing mullion on first and second floors; cambered
arches on first floor. Similar eaves cornice to No 14 with bed mould to console
brackets. Side elevation similar to No 14 with 11 windows closely spaced. The rear half has also been demolished but a tall ashlar stack with frieze and cornice survives above eaves over the eleventh bay.
