Back to back rows adapted circa 1820 from C18 farmhouse and probably maltings
as the place name would suggest. Two-storeys, thin sandstone "bricks" with
flush quoins. Slightly varied roof heights, stone slates; saddlestones with
shaped kneelers. Single and 2 light square mullioned windows in squared
surrounds. Squared jamb doorways, No 6 with pediment-hood. Included for
interest as cottage vernacular adaptation of earlier building.
