House. Early-mid C18 with C19 bay to right and C20 single storey bay to
left. Reputedly for the Morritt family of Rokeby Park as a hunting Lodge.
Pinkish brown brick with red brick and ashlar dressings and plain tile roof.
3 storeys, 6 bays, of which the third projects slightly. Garden front: C20
tripartite garden entrance to left of centre. Ground floor, four 24-pane
sashes in flush wood architraves and 1 blocked opening; first floor ashlar
band; first floor, 16-pane sashes in flush wood architraves; second floor
ashlar band; second floor, 1 unequally-hung 12-pane sash, otherwise C20
casements, all openings have stone cills and, flat arches of gauged brick.
Dentilled eaves band. Hipped roof, end and front stacks. Interior has
open-well pine staircase with turned balusters and wreathed handrail. Box
beams to some rooms. Shutters to some first floor rooms.
