Chapel with cottage underneath. 1836. Ashlar, coursed squared stone,
graduated stone slate roof. 2 storeys, 2 bays. Right return: 2 board doors
in plain stone surrounds with semicircular headed windows above, which have
glazing bars and voussoirs. Between windows a panel inscribed 'Howgill
Methodist Chapel AD 1836. God is with us Isa VIII 10'. Front: ground-floor
cottage: central board door in plain stone surround flanked by 4-pane
sashes. First floor: 2 round-headed windows similar to those on right
return. Modillions. Shaped kneelers, stone coping. End stack to right.
