Formerly one house, now 2 houses. Mid C17 with C20 alterations. Squared rubble,
stone dressings, stone slate roof. Formerly L-shaped plan, now square with
continuous outshut within angle. 2 storeys, double fronted. Central entrance has
chamfered surround, basket arch lintel, plank door. Left-hand bay has 5-light
double chamfered mullioned and transomed window per storey, right hand bay is
similar but with 6-lights and king mullions; dripmoulds. Upper floor right-hand
window has offset to left, possibly to accommodate timber firehood, now removed.
Right-hand gable end ridge stack. Interior: front right-hand room contains large
inglenook fireplace with chamfered surround, basket arch with mason's marks to
voussoirs. Left-hand return: 2 storeys, 2 bays. Central entrance has moulded
surround basket arched lintel with incised spandrels; plank door. Left-hand bay
contains 8-light double chamfered mullioned and transomed window per storey, that
on upper floor offset to right, possibly to accommodate timber firehood, now removed
Right-hand bay has similar but 5-light window per storey. Dripmoulds to both floors
Left-hand kneeler, left-hand ridge and right of centre ridge stack. Interior not
accessible but reputed to contain corbelled fireplace.
